No outside assistance is permitted during the event. Racer-to-racer assistance is permitted if both parties are actively participating in the event.

All obstacles must be completed correctly to continue on in the event.

Racers are responsible for following the course as marked.

It is the responsibility of the racer to know and understand the race route.

All racers must wear an unaltered URBANATHLON™ race number on the front of their person, at all times. Race numbers must be clearly visible throughout the event, unless stated otherwise by Race Officials.

Racers caught littering the course will be assessed a time penalty and may be disqualified from the event.

Race Management reserves the right to change or alter the course at any time for logistical, weather or safety reasons.

Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event in the event of an act of war or Mother Nature.

WAVE ONE

Wave One is a new addition to the event.

Wave One is open only to the first 300 racers who have posted an acceptable "qualifying" time in a previous URBANATHLON™ event. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you qualify and choose to compete in this wave:

  • You will be the first wave to depart from the start
  • You will NOT be included or ranked within your age group
  • You will be eligible for Wave One specific awards
  • You will be eligible for overall race awards

Racers who feel they qualify for Wave One, but have not run the Men's Health URBANATHLON™, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Interested parties should submit relevant race results to info@menshealthurbanathlon.com, subject line: "Wave One Request."

TIMING

Racers will receive a timing chip at packet pickup and are required to use it according to the directions provided in race packets.

Racers must start with their assigned wave. Racers who do not start as part of their assigned wave will not be given a finish time and will not be listed in the results.

Staging for race start will begin 30 minutes prior to start. Racers need to look for their assigned wave's staging sign within the start area and line up first-come, first-served.

Timing Headquarters keeps the official time clock for the competition. The race clock is real time; it begins when a racer crosses the timing mats at the start and stops when they cross the finish line.

MEDICAL

Racers have the right to receive basic first-aid and continue the race without being disqualified from the event.

Medical personnel have final say as to whether or not a racer is fit to continue the race.

RELAY TEAMS

Relay teams consist of 3 team members; each member runs approximately one-third of the race.

Relay teams are required to specify which team member is completing which relay leg at the time of registration.

Each relay team will be issued a timing chip. The chip must be passed from member to member throughout the event. Each member is required to use it according to the directions provided in race packets.

Racers who have completed their race leg are not permitted to assist other relay team members in any way while they are participating in the event.

AWARDS

Awards are given out on-site, at the conclusion of the event, ONLY to racers who place.

You MUST be present to receive your award. No awards will be mailed.

Finisher medals will be given to ALL racers who complete the event.

Please note that this information will be updated regularly and is subject to change. Check back the day before the race for final confirmation.
