Rules & Regulations OVERALL Participants can help each other. All obstacles must be completed to continue in the event. Participants are responsible to follow all courses as marked. Race Management reserves the right to change or alter the course at anytime for logistical, weather or safety reasons. Race Management reserves the right to postpone the event in the case of act of war, or Mother Nature deems the race course unsafe. All racers must wear an unaltered Urbanathlon race number at all times. Racing numbers must be worn on the outside of all clothing and be clearly visible throughout the event unless stated otherwise by Race Officials. Individuals/Teams caught littering the course will be assessed a time penalty and may be disqualified from an event. TIMING No participant will be pulled from the race course, disqualified from the event, or moved forward on the race course, until such actions are authorized by the Race Director. Race Headquarters will be the official time clock for the competition. The race clock is real time: it begins when the race starts and stops when the final team crosses the finish line. Time adjustments may be made by Race Management as deemed necessary. If a participant misses a cut off on the race course they will be allowed to keep racing but bypassing certain sections the course if deemed safe and appropriate by Race Management. If a participant chooses to withdraw, they MUST withdraw at a Feed Zone (with exceptions to medical emergencies only). MEDICAL Participants have the right to receive basic first-aid without the risk of being disqualified from the event. Medical Personnel and the Race Director, have final say in regards to an athlete continuing on in the event. RACE PROTESTS Protests must be filed with Race Headquarters Personnel by completing and signing a protest form. The Race Director will consider race protests prior to race results being finalized. Before a protest can be upheld, all participants affected by the protest will meet with the Race Director to formally review the protest. No protest can be upheld without the filing participant being present at this meeting. There will be a 15-minute protest period in regards to race results after preliminary results are posted. Results Protests must be filed with Race Headquarters Personnel by completing and signing a protest form. The Race Director will consider results protests prior to race results being finalized. Race Organizers have the final say in regards to all issues related to the rules and regulations. Time penalties and disqualifications will be addressed and issued based on each specific circumstance. AWARDS RELAY TEAMS After your relay leg has been completed you are not eligible to assist your other teammates during their legs of the event. Please note that this information will be updated regularly and is subject to change, so check back the day before the race for final confirmation!
